I work at the intersection of decarbonization, adaptation, and identifying climate risk—which basically means that I’ll do anything so long as it advances the goal of a fairer, safer world for all.
My background is in climate adaptation for food systems: I have an M. Phil and a D.Phil from the University of Oxford’s School of Geography in climate change adaptation. There, I drove around the Maritimes and wrote about how to help farmers successfully implement the climate adaptation techniques they’ve developed. Kate Sherren and Tom Thornton supervised my D.Phil. It was a lot of fun.
In 2021-22, I was a postdoctoral fellow in Graham MacDonald’s Land & Food Lab at McGill University, where I researched and wrote about how cities think about food systems in their climate emergency planning (tl;dr: they don’t, and that’s a problem).
In 2023, I was a policy advisor in IISD’s Canada Energy Team, where I led work on finance, ending fossil fuel subsidies in Canada, and developing equitable climate policy during the cost of living crisis.
Since then, I’ve worked as a freelance researcher and policy advisor on a variety of climate- and sustainability-related topics. You can hire me to work with you if you’d like! I’m very fun to work with.
