I teach beginner and intermediate flute and tin whistle in the traditional Irish, Québécois, and New England styles. Music is for everyone, and I love teaching folks to get more comfortable and have fun playing music with friends!

For now, I teach exclusively in person in the Montréal area, but that might change.

Who can I help the most?

  • Beginners who are just starting off on the Irish flute and/or whistle
  • Silver/Boehm flute players transitioning to the Irish flute, or traditional styles
  • Irish flute players who want to learn Québécois stylings and ornaments, or vice-versa

What do I teach?

  • Tunes from the traditional and modern repertoires of Ireland, Québec, and New England
  • Techniques for ornamentation, variation, and comfort
  • The joys of playing together with friends and in sessions!

How do we start?

Get in touch with me to chat about an initial lesson. The first lesson is always a trial, charged at the 4-block rate, and then you get to pick the number of lessons you pay for in advance.

Before we start, I’ll send you a little questionnaire asking you about your goals, musical history, and favourite tunes, so that I have a sense of how to structure our time together!

Lessons will usually take place in your home or–weather depending–outside in a public park.

How much does it cost?

I use a sliding-scale, prepaid-block system. Basically, there’s a range of prices, and they get cheaper the more you buy in advance. Rates for 2026 look like this:
